It’s only a model: Understanding what can and can’t be learned from computation, presented by Timothy Lezon, PhD, Department of Computational & Systems Biology. Like any research tool, computational modeling is most effective if the user has a good feel for its inner workings. Communication failure between quantitative and wet bench scientists can doom transdisciplinary projects. This session will address the strengths and limitations of computational models, and will explore strategies for effectively communicating across disciplines. (subject matter: collaborative research)
